Alecia Hoffman

Alecia Hoffman, Community Activities Coordinator, has been with the city since January, 2005.  Responsibilities include developing community recreation assessments, providing recreational programming, developing the Spearfish Recreation and Resource Guide, and project management of the recreation and aquatics center.  Her duties include hiring, training and supervising seasonal staff for the youth summer recreation programs and partnering with agencies to provide activities year round. She has an advisory or membership role on the Donald Young Center Advisory Board, Spearfish Coalition Board, Northern Hills Transportation Committee, and South Dakota Voices for Children.

The Spearfish recreation programs are for families, youth and adults. They are run with volunteers and partners through out the year.  Ten seasonal staff are hired and trained to develop the summer recreation programs and City tennis program.  The summer recreation programs, teen adventure camp and tennis lessons are provided beginning in June and ending in July.
