The Lookout Mountain Squadron is the local unit serving Spearfish, Belle Fourche, Deadwood, Lead, Sturgis, Whitewood, Newcastle and Sundance. We have a senior program for ages 18 and up which provides training in emergency services, leadership and individual career tracks. The educational goals and objectives will provide your youth the opportunity to learn and practice life skills such as problem solving, managing self and other resources, commitment to others and working with others. Lawrence County Cooperative Extension Girl ScoutsGirls ages 5 to 17 discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together; build courage and strength; and enjoy enriching Activities such as field trips, sports and community service projects. Develop values, relate to others and contribute to society. The programs focus on helping girls learn about themselves and their world. They are designed to help guide girls toward spiritual, physical and social well being and help them understand their potential as individuals. This is done through programs centered around education, fellowship, service and worship by working on badges and awards that focus on these areas and through educational field trips and camping experiences.
